Aunt Sukey Spins Off is in the Making

I’ve had precious little time for anything but the day job.  Never the less, I am spending that precious little time in the sewing studio.

I am working on Aunt Sukey Spins Off…my entry in SewCalGal’s Red and White Quilt Challenge.

I had better lighting for this second picture.

I’m lovin’ the Island Batik fabrics that I am using!  Thank you Island Batik!

Sitting Pretty – Finished!

Slow and steady wins the race.  I can take Sitting Pretty off of my UFO list.  Hooray!

Sweetness isn’t normally something I would want to make, so it must be the floral theme of the design that attracted me to it.

In any case, I enjoyed working the hand embroidery, and the wall hanging turned out cute.

A few close ups:

Hmmmm.

As I upload these photos, I see that I forgot to add a few button embellishments.  I’ll take care of that soon.

I entered Phase II of SewCalGal’s Red and White Quilt Challenge. You can see that post here.

Aunt Sukey Spins Off is my entry to the challenge:

I’m am thrilled to announce, and more than a little surprised (there are very good entries), that I won this challenge!  You can read about that at SewCalGal’s.

Island Batik sent enough yardage for me to make the quilt top.  Isn’t it gorgeous fabric?!

Island Batik Prize

Thank you so much to SewCalGal and Island Batik!
