September OMG 2017 Goal

For September, Patchwork Times drew number 4 from the UFO list.  My number 4 is the same as my number 5 goal was…the friendship round robin project. I knew I would need lots of time (I need lots of time to complete almost anything)!

You can read about this friendship strip round robin quilt here, here, and here.

I left off working on this project in March.  I was sewing four patches together for borders.

My goal for September is to get the borders sewn onto the quilt top and have a completed flimsy.

I am linking up with Elm Street Quilts for One Monthly Goal (OMG).  Hop on over there and check out the other goals for September!

Through me, you’ll see the past.
In the present, we’ll love one another as long as these moments last.” – Unknown

This past weekend, I was blessed to have my son and his family visit.  The last time that they were able to visit was back in April.

Having my 10 year old granddaughter with me, meant that we could finish her cushion project that we began the last time that she was here.

You can see the beginning of it in this blog post.

A. chose the fabrics, threads, and the applique.  She also did most of the sewing (I helped a little bit with those eyes).  I simply encouraged her along.

Pincushions

As I was digging around the sewing studio looking for orphan blocks to use in making shopping bags, I found two 4.5″ Lemoyne Stars that I had hand stitched many moons ago.

I made two muslin pouches and filled them with crushed walnut shells.

Then I put those pouches inside the Lemoyne Star pouches that I had sewn.

They sure make cute little pincushions!

And they aren’t orphans anymore!

I made my Lemoyne Stars from the free Diamond/Triangle/Square Collection from Inklingo.  Try it!
