Be My Valentine Table Runner

Be My Valentine

Be My Valentine table runner by Cherry Guidry was a fun squirrel project to make!

I knew this table runner would be a great fit for my large cabinet!

Of course, one wouldn’t have to make it this big. One could sew just a couple of hearts for the size needed (my finished size turned out to be about 16.25″ x 63″).

The quilting doesn’t really show up on the back, not just because I haven’t washed this yet (for the texture), but because the backing that I chose is a busy print.

This project was a very enjoyable break away from the computer (genealogy, ya know)!

Cherry has a wonderful website called Cherry Blossoms…you might like to check it out!

Stash Busters 2022 Challenge Update

In my last Jericho Walls variation Stash Buster post, I was at a crossroads on border treatments for my quilt flimsy.

I should probably have put a little pink border, followed by a wider black border and called it good.

It would have been.

Instead I chose to make four patches and border it with those.

It may be a bit overwhelming, but I am sticking with it anyway.

It now becomes a 48″ table topper (I have a large dining table) or wall hanging.

After I sandwich and quilt it of course.

In other news…

Betty Boop is back in the hospital.

I have nothing nice to say about her surgeon.

What kind of surgeon returns a beloved sewing machine that cannot be threaded, let alone stitch????

I didn’t take a photo of the poor girl, but her needle bar is placed so low that there was no access to thread it. I did manage…and we did sew this project together…we were gonna live with it. Until I put the free motion foot on. The needle bar is set so low that it can’t be used at all. Grrrrrrr!!!

Butterfly Garden – Finished!

I began this project in April 2018 with one of my granddaughters in mind.  She will be receiving it for her birthday this year.

I am very happy with the quilt, and I think she will be too!

I know that you can’t see the quilting.  It is quilted all over with bees.  I used a cute bee pantograph from Urban Elementz.

I also used the same fabrics that I used to piece Sugar Town…a birthday gift for the close cousin of this granddaughter.

Since it was an OMG project, I posted updates here, here, here, here, and here.
