We were up early to check out sunrise at Avon Fishing Pier (opened its doors in 1963 and was the first pier to be built on Hatteras Island) in the Outer Banks.

Due to the back swell of Hurricane Ian, the winds were high, it was overcast, and the waves were 10 feet!
We didn’t get that glorious sunrise that all photographers look for, but it was a great morning for photo opportunities and practice anyway!
