The Morning After a Winter Snowstorm

“Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart.” -Victor Hugo

“One kind word can warm three winter months.” -Japanese Proverb

Winter in the Backyard

I live in the shadow of a mountain, so it takes a while for the sun to shine on my home.  The above photo is what my backyard looked like this morning.

The next photo shows the sunrise from the front of my home.  You can also see part of my driveway.

Winter Sunrise

I am not a photographer, so having light and shadow is a difficult shot for me.

Winter Morning

I wanted to show a UFO that I have been diligently working on.  I guess I haven’t been diligent enough, but it is getting close.

Remember this?  (I’m not surprised if you don’t!)

Coming soon.

Backyard Visitor

Why am I sharing a photo of the top of one of my pear trees with a blurred clothesline stretched across?

Bear in Pear Tree

Oh.  That’s why!  Look who’s in the tree!

The bears have been busy (this is not the same bear that I shared with you in this post).

Bear Under Pear Tree

What a handsome dude he is!  He eats like a king!

He’ll be eating apples now.  The pear trees are stripped of their treasures until next year’s season of harvest.

Gone Hiking – Log Flume Heritage Site

“Man’s heart away from nature becomes hard.”  ~Standing Bear

“My father considered a walk among the mountains as the equivalent of churchgoing.”  ~Aldous Huxley

One of my favorite places to find serenity is to hike at the Log Flume Heritage site.

Enjoy!
