Judy’s Virtual Quilt Challenge 5

Back in March, Judy, the Virtual Quilter, posted Virtual Quilt Challenge #5.

We were to select a block from the EQ Library and play with it.  We are learning to create applique designs!

Judy gave more examples here and here.

I wish I had more time, because this is a really fun challenge!  As I play, more ideas keep coming, but this will have to do for now.

I chose to work with the block that is in the upper left square.

I am saving this file so that I can come back and play!

Candace Project

Back in January, I announced that I was going to make an art quilt.  I hadn’t made one in such a long time, and this one has been on my heart for a few years.

And then I didn’t do anything with it.

I got out the tracing paper and finally traced a working pattern.

I might redraw the face; not really happy with it, but changes will be made as I go along.  That’s part of the process.

Progress!

Sew Let’s Quilt Along

Partners in Design is offering a free QAL called Sew Lets Quilt.  The first block was a sewing machine, and you can see my version here

I am one block behind in this QAL, but I am okay with that.  The blocks have been easy to piece, and an enjoyable way to spend a little time.

Here is my second block:

Lets Sew Quilt Along

I think the third block will be a bit of a piecing challenge, but I am up for it.
