Sewing Machine Cover

My small Janome Gem Gold resides near a window and right next to my sweet supervisor’s bed.

This is a great little machine…I sewed my leader/ender bow tie quilt with it.

The problem is that my sweet little supervisor has long hair and she sheds prolifically.  It is everywhere!

Moving her bed is not an option, so I live with kitty hair and lint on my machine (and everywhere else).  I have wanted to make a quick and easy cover for the little Gem Gold for some time.

I have waited and waited for the right time to make a sewing machine cover.  I can’t understand why it took me so long to figure out that the right time is the time that I actually do it!  

There are a whole lot of sewing machine cover tutorials online and I chose a cute little tutorial by Amanda Niederhauser.

Shamrock Finished!

I finished it up with a simple cross hatch using the walking foot, and it now resides on my dining table.

Bow Ties Update and a New Project

I don’t have a lot of sewing progress to share, since I have been using my time to clean out cabinets, closets and read a novel.

Remember the bow tie flimsy?  I let it marinate while I considered whether or not I could live with the size that I made.

I decided that I wasn’t upset with it anymore, and I would make more bow ties to add to the width.

I finished the extra blocks and they are now sewn to the flimsy.

So now it marinates some more until I can come up with a backing for it.

Pat Sloan’s Shamrock Stem caught my eye.  I don’t have a decorative table topper (that can also be used as a small wall hanging) for March, so I spent the weekend making one.
