December OMG 2017 Goal

The last Patchwork Times unfinished project of the year is number 10.  Judy actually announced number 6, but number 6 was the number for October, so I am going with the only number left for the year…number 10.

My number 10 is a mystery project from 2013.  It is called the Case of the Secret Garden by Linda Franz, the creator of Inklingo.

I found my project wadded up in a basket.  Although the mystery was fun, and the pattern is a good one, I did not like my fabric choices, and therefore, was not motivated to complete the quilt.

The Case of the Secret Garden

Since December is such a busy month, I am keeping my goal for this quilt small. I want to add simple borders (they’ll have to be simple…there isn’t much left of the fabrics used in this project).

Brownie points for me, if I get the top pin-basted into a quilt sandwich, but it isn’t likely.

I’ll be baking cookies for Christmas!

Hunter’s Star Finish

I began my Hunter’s Star project in September, 2013.  I got as far as the borders, and stalled out.

Then it became my UFO Goal for May 2017.  I got the top pin-basted into a quilt sandwich and began quilting.

I am so happy to be able to announce that my Hunter’s Star version is finished!

Woohoo!

May OMG 2017 Update

For my Hunter’s Star project, I used the Inklingo Hunter’s Star 9 Inch collection from Linda Franz at her Inklingo website.

May OMG 2017 Update

My OMG/UFO goal for May was to work on project number 11, drawn by Patchwork Times.

My number 11 is a Hunter’s Star quilt.

I wanted to get the backing sewn and the quilt top pin-basted.

Done! I made the binding, too.

I also wanted to get the top quilted.

I stitched in the ditch to stabilize the quilt layers (but mostly to procrastinate while I thought about how to quilt this thing).

Not done; but I have made good progress.  I have a few more days left this month, so I  will work on it as I can.

Work hours increased, and I actually had some days of golden sunshine.  I could not stay indoors!

I also took time out to make luggage tags for an upcoming trip.

I found a few more kaleidoscope stars that I haven’t pieced.

All of the stars are cut from the same cloth (I wish I could tell you what company the fabric is from, or even what year, but I can’t.  I don’t know).

Looks like another UFO is born!
