Judy’s Challenge 3

Judy, of Virtual Quilter, posted her 3rd challenge in learning to use Electric Quilt.

We were to choose a kaleidoscope block, one made from many sections, and choose a fabric collection to play with.  I chose the Faceted Star block and  Modern Marks fabric by Christa Watson.

This was a great exercise!  By playing with value/contrast, the block could be made to look so different without ever adding another block or more fabric. 

With more play time, I could have come up with more variations, but here is what I have done with this challenge:

Judy’s Virtual Challenge 2

I am late to the party, but better late than never.

I participated in the Virtual Quilts first challenge to use Electric Quilt 8 to play with a block. The result of that challenge is here.

Challenge #2  was to select one of my virtual designs and add  Christmas colors.

I chose the Alpine Cross from this blog post to play with.

Judy’s Virtual Challenge

Judy, of Virtual Quilts fame, issued a challenge to use the Electric Quilt 8 program.

The hardest part of this first challenge was for me to make the time to actually do it.

And then, it didn’t take that much time after all.

Judy challenged users to select an Antique Mosaic block from the Classic Pieced EQ Library.

That was simple.

I chose  Mosaic, No. 5(2).

Here is the color version from the library:

And here is my colored version, using fabrics from the default fabric library:

We are challenged to add at least four seam lines, and play with color placement.
