A Stroll in the Garden

“If you’ve never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom.” — Audra Foveo

What is blooming in my garden?

The pie cherry tree is.

A Stroll in the Garden

“Blossom by blossom the spring begins.”
 — Algernon Charles Swinburne

I am not having a vegetable garden this year, as my Hubby is creating a new one with easier access and easier to water, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything to see!

I live in the north, so my season is a bit behind other bloggers.

So enjoy this little garden stroll with me!

I almost missed the Crown Imperials; they bloomed while I was away on vacation.

I find it interesting that, in my garden at least, the tulips seem to bloom by color division, rather than color explosion.

The pink ones generally bloom first.

Then the red ones spring forth!

Last, but not least, the yellow tulips are just now beginning to flower.

The rock cress is wonderful!

While the grape hyacinth (and the giant ones, too) are nearly finished with their display.

While the hyacinths and daffodils fade, the narcissus is just beginning a happy show!

And the magnificent crabapple is teasing us!

Slow Sunday Stitching

“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
― Washington Irving

“Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.”
– Stevie Wonder

Bleeding Hearts

“I don’t know what it is about food your mother makes for you, especially when it’s something that anyone can make – pancakes, meat loaf, tuna salad – but it carries a certain taste of memory.”
― Mitch Albom

I am blessed to have a fabulous Mom!  She loves life and is a great example for me.

And yes, there is a dish that is a must have when I visit her.  I must have her homemade macaroni and cheese!  It takes me back to childhood and warm memories.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!  Thank you so much!

Since this is a slow stitching Sunday, here’s what I am up to:

Aunt Bea's Parlor - Block 13

Block 13 of Aunt Bea’s Parlor is finished.
