I may switch out a fabric piece, or two, but I am happy with how the Candace fabric portrait looks, and I think she is ready for the stitching phase.

This is the last update for awhile.

Other things call for attention.

I haven’t felt this intense about a project in a very, very long time.

Except for the accursed day job, and having time constraints, I am using every moment that I have to work on Candace.

It isn’t actually work…it is play.  

I forgot how much fun it is to play.

I was stumped with her hair.  I only want to pull from my stash, and I had a difficult time of it.  All my browns are too red, or too green, or too orange… too dark, too light.

I finally called my Hubby into the sewing studio to get his opinion, and his opinion was of help.

But what helped the most was having a chat with myself. 

I forgot how much taking the creative process too literally spoils the fun.

After my little chat with myself, I got back to playing.

And I really, really want to shop all of the batik fabric sales that I can find!

Candace is coming along faster than I thought that she would!

I highly recommend putting the background fabric on first, since everything else goes on top of it.  It will be easier to build from the ground up.

I didn’t do this because I was undecided what I wanted to use for the background.

Remember…I haven’t permanently fused any of the pieces yet!  I can still change out something if I don’t like the way that it looks (or add background).

I think I have it figured out.

I am sorry that the lighting isn’t consistent for you.  I guess inconsistency goes with an amateur photographer and taking a photo at different times of the day.
