My daughter informed me that today is National Camera Day.
In honor of the occasion, I am posting photos of our newest resident.
She moved in right next to the front door.
I think she is a Western Flycatcher.
When I left for work this morning, there was one egg in the nest.
Now there are two.
Update 06/30/2013: There are now three eggs in the nest.

It is always good to slow down and take a walk once in a while. It refreshes body and soul and one never knows what one might discover.
A nest in the apple tree:
A crab spider hiding out in the phlox (she is so clever with her camouflage):
And a pine beetle:
I think the dent in the beetle’s wing casing was caused by an adventurous kitten.
