This and That

I saw Pat Sloan’s beach bucket banner and I thought it was pretty cute for summer.

I dropped everything and made one.

Since I don’t have any beach buttons in my stash, I’ll be making a little shopping trip to see if I can find any.

Then this banner will be gifted.

Mom lives about 1-1/2 hours away, so Hubby and I packed a bag and spent a couple of days at my older sister’s home.

We had plans.

Condo painting plans!

Some family members got together and made Mom’s wish a reality!

It was work, but because the family made this happen together, we had lots of fun, too.

Mom says she hasn’t heard that much laughter in quite a while!

It turned out to be a great way to spend the holiday week!

Mom took a few pics. Older Sis and her daughter are hard at work the day before we got there.

Mom had a tough time choosing colors, and decided to go bold!

For the curious, I made the wall hanging quite a few years ago. It is my interpretation of Mom’s high school graduation photo.

Sis and I taking a break out in front of Mom’s condo. We are a couple of grey heads now, hopefully wise ones. Ha!

All of the hen party blocks are not only fused, but stitched and squared up as well!

How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains!

There is that in the glance of a flower which may at times control the greatest of creation’s braggart lords.

Between every two pine trees there is a door leading to a new way of life.

I only went out for a walk, and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine into trees.

From the dust of the earth, from the common elementary fund, the Creator has made Homo sapiens. From the same material he has made every other creature, however noxious and insignificant to us. They are earth-born companions and our fellow mortals.

I care to live only to entice people to look at Nature’s loveliness. Heaven knows that John the Baptist was not more eager to get all his fellow sinners into the Jordan than I to baptize all of mine in the beauty of God’s mountains.
