Hunter’s Star Finish

I began my Hunter’s Star project in September, 2013.  I got as far as the borders, and stalled out.

Then it became my UFO Goal for May 2017.  I got the top pin-basted into a quilt sandwich and began quilting.

I am so happy to be able to announce that my Hunter’s Star version is finished!

Woohoo!

May OMG 2017 Update

For my Hunter’s Star project, I used the Inklingo Hunter’s Star 9 Inch collection from Linda Franz at her Inklingo website.

September OMG 2017 Goal

For September, Patchwork Times drew number 4 from the UFO list.  My number 4 is the same as my number 5 goal was…the friendship round robin project. I knew I would need lots of time (I need lots of time to complete almost anything)!

You can read about this friendship strip round robin quilt here, here, and here.

I left off working on this project in March.  I was sewing four patches together for borders.

My goal for September is to get the borders sewn onto the quilt top and have a completed flimsy.

I am linking up with Elm Street Quilts for One Monthly Goal (OMG).  Hop on over there and check out the other goals for September!

August OMG 2017 Goal Update

The number 8 was drawn by Patchwork Times, as the monthly goal for August.

My number 8 goal was to do something with some machine applique floral sample blocks.

I squared the blocks to 12-1/2″.

Triangles were added to set the blocks on point.

After squaring and setting the blocks on point, I decided to turn them into autumn placemats.

I kept the quilting simple; straight lines, echo, and meandering (I’m not making Van Gogh or Picasso art pieces after all). Here’s a look at the back:

I’ll be gifting these placemats…it feels good to have turned the blocks into something useful!

I am linking up with OMG at Elm Street Quilts.  Take some time to see what other folks have finished for the month!

I am also linking up with Patchwork Times .
