Bats and Boos, Bow Tie Leader/Enders and Betty Boop Updates

Betty Boop continues to languish in the hospital awaiting her new part (must still be on a cargo ship somewhere). It has been 3 months now.

I miss her.

Meantime, I do have a Juki that I can use to machine quilt (straight stitch only). So some progress is happening.

Bats and Boos

Bats and Boos is now pin-basted and waiting for machine quilting.

China Bend Winery

Hubby was asked to take photographs of some real estate that is for sale (Joe Conowitch @ Westergard Real Estate Kettle Falls, WA). When he asked me if I would like to join him for a drive to China Bend Winery, I jumped on that invitation!

The winery is not far from where we live, and the drive is quite picturesque, but I chose not to bring my camera since it was a very rainy day. None of the following photos were taken by me. They are my hubby’s or from the real estate office where he works.

The winery is located next to the Columbia River, and is so beautiful and serene no matter what season one visits.

Hubby and I were treated to a private tour and thoroughly enjoyed our visit with the Bart (the very friendly owner)!

China Bend Winery

Many awards have been won! China Bend Winery produces unique, organic wines with no added sulfites.

One can also purchase wonderful handmade gifts such as these brooms and lots of edible goodies ( Hubby and I brought home a tasty sun-dried tomato and garlic dip). Bart’s wife, Victory, grows her own products and also produces her own dips and canned goodies!

The winery also hosts a bed and breakfast…a lovely and peaceful getaway! Imagine enjoying an evening on this rustic porch right outside your room!

And, yes, Hubby and I had a wine tasting event with Bart, and came home with a couple of bottles!

Nisqually Wildlife Refuge

*Picture heavy post!

On my last day of vacation, our daughter-in-law took Hubby and I to the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge.

I shared about this wonderful estuary at the Nisqually River delta in this post.

I love visiting here!

I wasn’t ready for this heron. We had just gotten out of the car, and I had heard noise in the water behind the bushes. I was surprised when I saw the heron getting her breakfast!

Unfortunately, my camera wasn’t acclimated yet, and I had mist on the lens! I still have so much about photography to learn!

Oops!

I hope you enjoyed the sharing of what I did on my vacation (never thought I’d be writing about vacation once I left grade school).
