Have you been decluttering this month?
This is my sixth year doing Karen Brown’s Declutter Challenge.
I haven’t really had to do all that much decluttering in my sewing studio this year.
I have, however, taken the decluttering principles into my kitchen, laundry room, and entryway closet. Those areas have definitely benefited from the decluttering!
For once, I have actually sewn a seasonal project before the holiday has arrived!
Hello, Valentine’s Day!
I got the Bee Mine pattern by Jen Daly from Quiltmaker January/February 2019 magazine that a friend gave to me.
You can also find the pattern in Jen Daly’s Etsy shop.
And, yes, mine does look different from the original.
I made a mistake. Oops. That’s okay. I went with it and I like the version that I came up with.
Have fun and carry on!

Such a cute pillow! So timely!🩷

Ha! I see you are ahead of the game on projects! Yes, indeed, the rest of my house needs to be decluttered, too.

It is a fluke, Zippy! I doubt that I can stay ahead. 🤣

The lap-over fold technique for pillow covers is the best thing since sliced bread (as the saying goes). Yours is cute and ready to be admired on its special holiday!

Sometimes I add a hidden zipper, but the fold over is such a quick and tidy technique, Laura. 😁

Thank you Kathleen! A rare event for me…to have a project done before the holiday. I should look at that differently…never late and always very, very early for a holiday. 🤣

This sweet little pillow is making me smile, Diann. That cute little bee buzzing from heart to heart makes is like spring around here instead of only 14 degrees. 😁

It looks good to me. It’s not a mistake, it’s a design decision.

I was going to say that, Donna, but then I thought that I would come clean so others would know that they can pivot when they make a mistake…all is not lost.
That reminds me…do you remember the phrase “don’t throw out the baby with the bath water”? I must be old because when I said that recently to my 17 year old granddaughter, she did not know what I meant and had never heard the phrase. She thought that was a very strange thing to say. Ha, ha! 🤣

I do remember that saying, which must make me old too. 😀 Do people even take baths anymore?
