Karen Brown Stashbuster #2

In keeping with my desire to clear out some stash, I decided to try Karen Brown’s Stashbuster #2 pattern.

Karen calls it beginner and fat quarter friendly, easy, and fast.

She is right!

I cut the fabrics and made myself a kit over a month ago, so that I could just sew when I was ready for a simple project.

The weather has been gray for days and I could stay home, so I decided that I was ready.

This makes a nice baby sized quilt. It could also be a table topper, and makes a great charity project as well!

This winter, I just might cut some more kits from a couple of Karen’s Stashbuster patterns!

Have fun and carry on!

  1. You casually mentioned cutting out ‘kits’ from your stash & project patterns to set aside for whenever you decide to start sewing them. What a brilliant idea! To have materials set aside in kit form made by yourself for future use. Half the battle of starting for myself is plowing through the steps involved with gathering, cutting, etc before one can actually begin **sewing** and by then, I’m spent! HA! Good job on yet another stash buster, Laura!

    • I only recently begun to make kits for myself, and now I have several ready to go. It is not an original idea and I definitely like doing this, Laura! It requires prep time, of course, but then the thinking and cutting is done when it comes time to just sew for the fun of sewing! And I have a lot of stash to move, so this is really working for me! 🙂
