Betty Boop continues to languish in the hospital awaiting her new part (must still be on a cargo ship somewhere). It has been 3 months now.
I miss her.
Meantime, I do have a Juki that I can use to machine quilt (straight stitch only). So some progress is happening.
Bats and Boos is now pin-basted and waiting for machine quilting.
Bow Ties is machine quilted with a Baptist Fan variation. The binding is made, but not sewn to the quilt yet.
Quilt On!

I’m so sorry to hear about Betty Boop. Three months is a long time; I hope the part comes soon. Glad you have the Juki to keep you going, and you’re making progress on those project!

Me too, Wendy! And now that ‘shipping season’ is here, I won’t have a lot of time to sew anyway. 🙂

Hi Laura! WOW, that is a long time to wait for a part. I’m sorry and I’ll bet BB is anxious to be back in service, too. I almost purchased a Juki mid-arm – can you put a free motion foot on it or is that not allowed? {{Hugs}} You seem to be coping and making progress anyway! ~smile~ Roseanne

Absolutely, Roseanne…you can put a free motion foot on a Juki…it is the foot that I have on it most of the time. 🙂

I feel your pain. My Janome Horizon is waiting for a part as well. There are no parts available in all of Canada and no ETA either. The part ‘might’ be available in the US but at 5 x the original price ($162 USD vs $32 CAD) and a minimum of 4 to 6 months wait.
Beautiful work – patience is a virtue they tell me. 🙂

I guess we will both be more virtuous then. Ha, ha! 🙂

Glad you found a way to move forward. May be time for a new machine!

Betty Boop isn’t that old…I don’t want a new machine. But I hear ya…the thought has creeped into my mind more than once! 🙂

As you know, I’ve had my eye on those Bow Ties – I was wondering, it looks like you used a cheddar colored thread for the quilting? Clever to use cheddar!
HA!
Anyway, good for you to find a way to ‘carry on’ while waiting for Ms Betty Boop to return.

Yes, indeed, I did use a cheddar thread, Laura! Carrying on…ha, ha! 🙂

Glad your Juki is a help while Betty Boop waits for her wonderful new part! What an annoying thing. Your quilts are so much fun, Bats and Boos and Bow Ties are coming along nicely, and you are getting some sewing done. Sainthood may be in order after this wait.

Sainthood…thanks so much for that! 🙂

I hope your part comes through soon. I remember waiting for Grandma Necchi…Nannette’s husband finally made the spring I needed. Hang in there!
