Betty Boop is still in the hospital (it is soooo difficult to get parts these days), but I do have my little Janome Gem Gold. Nothing fancy, but she is a workhorse. While internet surfing, I came upon Fat Quarter Shop’s, Bats and Boo QAL, and it has become a squirrel project (Oh, look!) for me. I am thinking of using it as a table topper when I finish it.
Except for one print, I do not have Halloween novelty fabrics in my stash, and I intend to use stash, rather than shop for this project. I think that what I have found to use will do nicely. The first block that I have made is the bat.
He is pretty cute! Four of them are cuter!
These aren’t the layouts in the quilt along, but I like them both! They could be worth exploring in the future if one has the time or the inclination.
The next block that I have made is the star block.
There is an oopsie in the block pictured above.
No worries…I fixed that!
Next up…I have some pumpkin blocks to make!
Quilt On!

These look fun! The bat block looks totally unbatlike, when you put it together in some of those combinations!

That is what I thought, Kathy. Play with color/value and you can have something totally different. š

The bat block almost drew me in when the QAL came out – I still like it. The colors you’ve chosen are so fun.

Thank you, Wendy! I tried to resist, but it is more fun to give in. Ha, ha! š

How fun is that! I have too many unfinished projects to start something new with a clear conscience. I have a Janome Gem Gold too! I love it. I can’t wait to see the next instalment for this project! Good job so far.

I have too many as well, but had to have this one.
The Gem is a cute little machine, and she sure has helped me out a lot! š

The Gem is my ‘take to class’ machine. I also use it for quick mending (do people still to that?) š

Same here! Many moons ago, I bought one for myself to take to classes, and one for my step-mom (she made soft toys for the grands).
I only mend if my Mom makes me. Ha, ha! š

It’s a cute project. Pat Sloan did it on her channel.

Pat Sloan is where I first saw it, Donna. I like the border that she made for her version. š

Wonderful squirrel project. Sally, my Inner Squirrel tried to get me to join this fun SAL but I was traveling when it started. Maybe early 2022 I can make it. I love, love, love your fabrics and colors.

Thank you, Darlene! I hope you can make it whenever you are ready for it! I am in a dilemma with my fabric choices…none of the pieces that I have used have enough left for borders. š

Fun to see how the bat block looks so different in another layout!

Well, aren’t those blocks just the cutest things ever?!! That little bat!!! How fun . . . and from stash, no less. Great use – I can’t wait to see these all come together. You are close to handing over a squirrel project . . . but no, I’m being strong. STRONG. So far. HAHAHAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne

Strong is overrated (says the girl who tries hard to be strong and resist so many internet surfing temptations). š
