In this post, I am focusing on Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park.
*Clicking on a photo will give you a closer look!
The village is a bustling place (and is home to historic Fort Yellowstone), but I want to share some of the travertine terraces with you. The travertine terraces are hot springs that rise up through limestone, dissolve the calcium carbonate, and deposit the calcite.
The boardwalks are not too difficult (you can take a stroller), and I encourage you to take the time, if you can, when planning to visit the park.
Palette Spring from above (the spring that flows over the terraces in the previous photos):
I like the last photo because of the strong color definition between the deposits.
See the world around you!
Stay healthy! Stay safe!

That is an oldie! Ha, ha! I suppose I should take time to update…if I can remember how. I found my courage and let my hair go grey. I may look older, but I feel pretty good about it. 🙂
