Lets Sew Quilt Along

Block 8, or the third block in Segment 2 of the Lets Sew Quilt Along is a cute pincushion design by Sherry Shish of Powered by Quilting.

The block is as easy, or embellished, as you would like!

I chose to machine applique my tomato pincushion. I used a silver metallic thread to machine stitch the pin shafts.

I also drew and machine appliqued a strawberry to the pincushion. Stitching by hand, I embellished with a stem stitch and a chain stitch.

I may use buttons for the pin heads after putting this project together.

I love the pin fabric you used, and I agree, you can’t have a tomato pin cushion without the strawberry!

Actually, I think the tomato looks a lot like my two pumpkin pincushions! Well, except for the colour.

I really like the way you have personalised the design and your hand stitches are so neat! Wimbledon is underway so it’s definitely strawberry season here 🙂
