Sew Let’s Quilt Along

I have finished the first block in Segment 2 of the Sew Let’s Quilt Along.

If you are not a quilter, then you may be wondering what the block is.

Lets Sew Quilt Along

So I have put a few binder clips on my block for you to see.  They are like clothespins.  They come in different colors and different sizes, and are handy for all sorts of crafty things.

On my block, you see orange binder clips holding the binding in place before sewing it to the quilt.

I chose the lilac fabric because it reminds me of free motion quilting and I already had it in my stash.

May OMG Goal 2019 Update

Time to share an update on my May OMG (One Monthly Goal).

I had decided that it was time to get the Aunt Bea’s Parlor project out of the closet and finish up the borders.

I also said that I had issues with piecing the borders and that it was the pattern’s fault.

Ahem.

Turns out, as is often the case when I am involved, my issues were due to operator error.

Somehow the piecing just went together so much better when I took the time to mark and pin.

Go figure.
