“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”
― Washington Irving
“Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.”
– Stevie Wonder
“I don’t know what it is about food your mother makes for you, especially when it’s something that anyone can make – pancakes, meat loaf, tuna salad – but it carries a certain taste of memory.”
― Mitch Albom
I am blessed to have a fabulous Mom! She loves life and is a great example for me.
And yes, there is a dish that is a must have when I visit her. I must have her homemade macaroni and cheese! It takes me back to childhood and warm memories.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! Thank you so much!
Since this is a slow stitching Sunday, here’s what I am up to:
Block 13 of Aunt Bea’s Parlor is finished.
Onto Block 14!
I will be linking up with Kathy’s Quilts Slow Sunday Stitching.

Block #13 is a beauty! Hope you enjoy time with your Mom and with your stitching today!

My mother’s been gone for 18 years. I wish I could go back and have one of her green salads with homemade dressing. Your basket embroidery is so sweet. So appropriate for Mother’s Day.
